Welcome to the Course!

I have a passion for herbal medicine. I have long believed that we can go a long way towards health by staying close to nature. Eating our foods as wholesome and minimally processed as reasonable. By adding herbal tisanes (teas/infusions) to our diet to nourish us and provide a healthier option than sodas and energy drinks. And through learning how to safely and effectively use many of the herbs that grow in our gardens or forests/deserts/prairies for managing minor health problems, I want you to feel empowered to make your own herbal remedies: infusions, decoctions, syrups, tinctures, compresses, poultices, vinegars, bath salts, salves and more in your own kitchen with just a few basic tools.

This course is divided into ten sections. Each section includes:

  • A written description of how to make the herbal remedy.
  • A lecture that discusses the type of herbal preparation in detail.
  • A video of me preparing an example of the herbal preparation.
  • A sample worksheet that I have completed on how an herbal preparation was made (except for herbal powders)
  • A blank lab note that you can copy and use when making your own preparation (except for herbal powders)

At the end of the course, there is a Resource section to help you find the herbs, oils, containers and other items that can you help you make your own herbal medicines at home.
